Fall SessionThis class will focus on stage performance and unlike previous sessions, the end of the class performance will be held onstage at the New World Arts building in front of an audience.
Skills such as character analysis, projection, articulation, blocking, and working together as an ensemble will be taught. This fun, end of the year session will build upon skills learned throughout the year but new students are welcome to participate!
Funds raised from ticket sales will go directly into our student scholarship fund.
Schedule:
Classes run Saturdays, September 27th - November 15th
Technical Rehearsals November 18th - 20th
Scholarship Fundraiser Performances November 21st and 22nd
*Students get (2) complimentary tickets to the performances
Ages 7-11 :: Saturdays 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Laura Gouin is the owner and director at Center Stage Academy of Performing Arts. She holds a Masters Indiana Teacher License and a Masters in Directing with over ten years of teaching experience. She has directed and acted for the last fifteen years and her works have been seen on the community and university stages as well as in Chicago and New York. She is also actively involved in local and regional theatre and works as the Artistic Director of New World Arts in Goshen. Her students have gone on to successful careers in the arts and many have received scholarships to pursue artistic development at the university level.]]>
Carrie Lee Bland-Kendall recently moved to Goshen and is delighted to be working with CSA. Carrie Lee has been a full time Actor and Singer for the past 16 years, the last 12 based out of Chicago. Her career spans from the regional stage and touring companies to the small and big screen from coast to coast. With well over 30 productions, 22 commercials, 14 films and 2 TV pilots under her belt, Carrie Lee has been playing double duty and reaching on the "other side of the camera" in recent, also working as Casting Director, Stage Manager, Production Coordinator and On-Camera/Voice Coach for numerous Companies, Bands, & Projects. Carrie Lee works as a short film & music video scout for Chicago's monthly event, The Midwest Independent Film Festival. This year she and her husband, Dave Kendall, have formed DKK Media Production Company. Carrie Lee is well represented in Chicago with 4 agencies across the board and is a proud member of Actor's Equity. ]]>
A 2007 graduate of Goshen College, Cassie Palmer Greer holds degrees in theater performance, history and vocal performance. Recognized in college for her acting work by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival as an Irene Ryan Scholarship nominee, Cassie has worked extensively with Goshen College's theater and music departments, in addition to community theaters in Goshen, South Bend and Berne, Indiana. Although she is most often seen onstage, Cassie has also had experience as a director, designer and technician, and occasionally works as a freelance makeup artist and model.]]>

Our instructors are professional artists from Chicago, LA, and Indiana. Areas of instruction include acting, directing, improvisation, playwriting, voiceovers, musical theatre, and professional auditioning for both film as well as the stage.
Many of our students take a class just for fun and others join our academy to learn professional industry standards. No matter what you're looking for, you'll find the class you need.
